Ardgowan Hospice offers the highest quality supportive care to over 900 patients and their families living with a life-limiting illness in the community of Inverclyde.
We provide not only physical and medical support, but also important practical, emotional and social support to patients diagnosed with a life limiting illness and their families and carers.
Ardgowan has a team of committed consultants, doctors, nurses, caring support staff and volunteers to make sure patients and families are supported to enjoy their lives. We care passionately about making every moment matter and improving quality of life.
Ardgowan’s service focuses on symptom management, rehabilitation and respite assistance, psychological support for patients, carers, families, children and dedicated end of life care. These services are offered free and we rely heavily on the generosity of supporters and the community. We receive about 40% of our funding from the NHS and the remainder is fundraised through generous donations, legacies, gifts and grants, Ardgowan shops, the Lottery and the Friends of Ardgowan Hospice.
The hospice has been at the heart of the Inverclyde community for over 30 years. We are constantly developing our services and this year will be focussing on our innovative ‘Inside Out’ hospice service that reaches out into community and offers patients support where they need it – this could be at home, another place of care or at their local health centre. Ardgowan is offering greater access to more services for the growing number of people in need.
